The owners of Bodum, Martine Thoelen and Jørgen Bodum, made this their home base given the company moved itsheadquarters from Copenhagen to Switzerland some years ago. Bodum is famous for their coffee press and double walled glass and has  a long heritage, being founded in 1994 by Peter Bodum, Jørgen's father. The home has a distinctive Scandinavian feel given the neutral colour pallet and selection of designer pieces, although from the outside it is classically Swiss. Prepare for a visual feast and a master class in simple and sophisticated interior design.

Jørgen Bodum uses the dining room table, surrounded by Hans Wegner white wishbone chairs as his work area, with a coffee press nearby

A better view of the large dining room table shows how effectively they have captured a stylish Scandinavian feel in this dining area. The couple are also keen art collectors and Martine is an artist herself so they have a large collection on display. A beautifully calm and inviting room that works well as a make-shift study or for entertaining large groups.

The neutral tones and calm sophistication continues into the living areas with white linen lounges and a feature brown leather Egg Chair next to the telescope to take in the magnificent views of the lake and surrounds.

The open plan kitchen is connected to the living areas with a large island bench and and is very well equipped for an enthusiastic chef.

Martine is a keen artist herself so has converted the adjoining building into a studio. An amazing space with a view to match

Finally, to complete the perfect home, the outdoor terrace and pool area continue the sense of understated style. Unfortunately the weather doesn't allow as much use as here but when available, it must be exquisite

what an idyllic image and a picture of absolute serenity and Swiss style
