Ideas for decorating a small apartment - get inspiration from Brazil

Posted by Interior Classics on

This apartment in Brasilia, Brazil is only 30 square meters, which is unusually small by Australian standards but the expansion of large scale apartments in the Brazil has resulted in smaller layouts there. BEP architects, who designed the building helped by using a fold-out bed and the bathroom door matches the cupboard doors to give the impression of more space. Also, the dining table has a very clever fold out mechanism that makes space for the bed when it folds out. Check out the video below to see the amazing transformation.

Although the owners have opted for dark wood paneling, cupboards and the dining table, they have also used glass and extensive shelving to keep a sense of space in such a small area. We thought the use of the Eames Eiffel clear plastic chairs were a great choice for this reason.

The chairs are versatile and are used for the study area as well as dining chairs. The owners were determined to make the apartment versatile enough to use for working, entertaining and casual living and the furniture choices including the custom-made dining table work well to provide a lot of flexibility in a very small layout.
