The fitout and furnishings at Mazzo restaurant in Amsterdam create the homely and inviting ambiance that any Italian restaurant would love. The bare brick wall, polished concrete floors, luxurious padded leather benches and long natural wooden shelving create a space that is sophisticated without ever being pretentious. The restaurant includes a bar, internal and external seating and the furnishing are a mix of modern Scandinavian and mid-century Navy stools and chairs around painted wooden tables. The thin, deep space gives most patrons a view of the open kitchen, to give that extra Italian touch and ambiance. There are also a selection of large black and white portraits that complement the Southern European feel - a very clever addition.
