These pictures of the new home of Pella Hedeby, a Swedish stylist and blogger provide a masterclass in classic interior design. Pella's hallmark style is modern, austere with some soft touches to soften the look. Her look is fairly minimalist but the addition of things like sheepskin throws, rustic wooden bowls and art add colour and contrast to the home.

Pella clearly loves modern classics and nowhere shows off her style better than the dining areas with a Tulip table, white Bertoia chair, natural Wishbone and a gunmetal Tolix. Each so different but the combination is very effective and the austerity of the artwork and white lamp complete the effect. A great example of bold design.

The same pure and simple styling continues in the living area, which is predominantly white with some neutral colours for contrast. The black and white prints and large white hanging light fixture are nice additions to the furnishings. The Eames rocking chair is always a nice addition to a living room - comfortable and attractive.

Another picture of the corner shows an Eames side table and some extra artwork and these funky theatre lights

We loved the contrasting dark grey feature wall against the white lacquered desk. Again, Pella has a trained eye for laying out books and accessories on the shelves and the desk to create a very stylish area. It's also a nice idea to have the desk chair match the feature wall and tie everything together.

The same sense of understated style extends to the bedrooms and the use of a blackboard is a fantastic way to add contrasting colours and give kids an extra play space - not sure about cleaning up though!

The other bedroom uses a white Componibilli as a bedside table and the contrast of the metal lockers is striking.

The all white kitchen is simple and as elegant as the rest of the home.

A good example of using some carefully selected jars and flowers to soften the look and make a feature all on its own.
