Brightly coloured 2 bedroom Swedish apartment celebrates midsummer days

Posted by Interior Classics on

It's the mid-summer holiday (Midsommar) in Sweden this week and this 2 bedroom apartment has been inspired by the long days and sunny skies of the time of year. The apartment is relatively small by Australian standards at 40 square meters but the owners have added such bright and vibrant accessories that it feels so much bigger. The typically monochrome white walls make the room light and airy but it's the art, accessories and clever interior design that makes the home so impressive.

The combination of the black and white print and green puppy chair, with the bright cushions exude energy and make an immediate impact. It's hard not to look at this space without smiling!

A wider view shows how the owners have added more colourful cushions, used a industrial styled crate for the entertainment unit and the vintage gold framed mirror is a clever contrast to the the modern furnishings and art.

The dining area is a simple round white and wood table with a set of 4 Eames Eiffel white chairs that match the white kitchen colour scheme.

With such limited place, the compact Eiffel chair makes a convenient and attractive storage spot and the green artwork above the door adds more primary colour.

In the other hallway, a clear plastic designer chair and funky pink coat rack look fantastic and using the clear chair prevents the space feeling cluttered. Great selection.

The mix of bold, bright cusions and antique styled gold pieces continues in the bedroom.

The balcony leads of off the bedroom and although small, still accommodates two comfy chairs and a coffee table for a cozy breakfast in summer.
